Intronis Management Team

Sam Gutmann, Co-Founder, President and CEO - Board Member

"It's about the people, finding the right people, building the right team. We have more fun and get more done most days than I ever thought we would. One thing I wish everyone knew? How much our people care about our partners and our customers. We can't really make a billboard out of that, but it's my favorite thing here."

Working as a small-business consultant in the late 1990s, Sam found that many business owners were backing up their data only sporadically, when they remembered to do it at all. Sam realized that tapes, disks, and CDs would always create incomplete backup sets. In 2000, Sam, Neal, and Steve (see below) began development on the offsite, secure, user-friendly solution that would grow to become Intronis. After three years of research, development, software design, and testing, Intronis was launched in 2003.

Prior to Intronis, Sam worked for several years as an independent small-business technology consultant. He is a graduate of the Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Management Information Systems.

Neal Bradbury, Co-Founder, Chief Product Owner - Board Member

"My favorite part is being on the phone with someone who's lost data and we help them get it back. To a programmer, that is the best feeling in the world: We created an algorithm, a function that works to help our customers when they need it the most. I think about where we started, when this was just an idea. To see where we've come, how many people we've been able to help and how this place has grown, that's awesome."

Neal is responsible for the overall vision of Intronis' product strategy. He keeps Intronis at the leading edge of storage technology, researching new features and helping the team implement them.

Neal has more than 15 years of experience in networking, security, integration, and systems management. Prior to co-founding Intronis, Neal worked at Hasbro Inc. and at General Dynamics Electric Boat, where he was a Systems Engineer working on Combat Systems of the Virginia-class submarine. Neal has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Steven Frank, Co-Founder, VP of Architecture

"Everyone cares. Everyone's on the same page. We're a team. It's a great feeling. It's what makes it possible for us to adapt so quickly to whatever our customers ask us to do. Development here is really led by customers. More than 50% of our product now began as direct responses to customer requests. The people who write the code sit right next to the people talking to customers, so we know what's needed."

Steve is chief architect of all Intronis' online backup software. He has more than 15 years programming experience in software engineering, embedded systems, website application testing, and statistical analysis.

Before co-founding Intronis, Steve did software engineering work for Empirix, NMS Communications, and State Street Bank. Steve is an honors graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Eric Webster, VP of Sales & Marketing

"For me, it's about our customers. I want this to be the best customer experience they ever have. That's a combination of the solution itself and how we support it. Intronis is fast-paced, faster than any place I know. Do I like it this busy? Yeah, I do. I feed on the fast pace. I'm probably the one pushing it to be faster."

With over twelve years of channel experience, Eric oversees the day-to-day operations of Intronis’ sales and marketing departments.   He was instrumental in building out the Gung-Ho Client Service team and is known for his fanatical "partner comes first" mantra.  Eric is also actively involved in working with our partners, creating winning partner marketing programs, listening to their requests, and learning about each and every one of their businesses.

Prior to joining Intronis, Eric was responsible for running the Northeast and Canada territories for CA within their Storage Management business unit. Before CA, Eric worked at start-up XOsoft (later acquired by CA) where he held management responsibilities to build out the inside sales team and build strategic channel partnerships.   Eric has extensive experience in building highly focused and execution driven teams.  Eric is a graduate of Northeastern University with a BSBA in Management.  He is also a certified Scrum Master.
